There is no specific reading for this module but there are some books which can act as reference/wider reading material:

Hamil J, Knutzen K M and Derrick T R (2015) Biomechanical basis of human movement. 4th Ed. Baltimore, MD: Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. This textbook contains a great deal of biomechanics information you need in a manner that is useful and understandable. It is very comprehensive and will serve students throughout their undergraduate course in Sports Science.

A second book you will find very useful in this module is Hall S (2011) Basic Biomechanics 6th ed. Boston: McGraw-Hill. The coverage of this book is wider than its title suggests and the content is presented in a manageable, progressive fashion to make biomechanical principles accessible to all students, regardless of their mathematical skills.   

For some lighter reading around the idea of maths and sport have a look at the " How to take a penalty : the hidden mathematics of sport " by Rob Eastaway and John Haigh ISBN 1861058365. In short, this is a collection of nice examples of how you can employ mathematical reasoning in everyday situations (such as sport) to improve your position and chances of winning.

An introduction to biomechanics of sport and exercise” by James Watkins is a good reference book whose content is based upon the fundamental concepts of force, Newton’s Laws of motion, work and energy, but no previous knowledge of mechanics is assumed and all biomedical concepts and principles are explained from first principles. This is a very good course textbook and will serve the students throughout their undergraduate courses.
