You should seriously consider buying a statistics book.

If you want something short but useful then go for:

Dytham C.  2010. Choosing and Using Statistics: A Biologist’s Guide . 3rd Edition, Wiley-Blackwell, Oxford.

If you really want to understand what you are doing as well as get a detailed step-by-step guide, then a very accessible book is:

Field, A. 2013. Discovering statistics using IBM SPSS statistics : and sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll , 4th Edition, Sage Publications, London.

If you are keen to try out R (which I can’t recommend enough!), then the Dytham book contains R code, but the following book is a very user-friendly introduction to using R:

Beckerman A, Petchey O and Childs D. 2017. Getting started with R : an introduction for biologists . 2nd Edition, Oxford University Press, Oxford.

The Field and Beckerman books are relatively new editions – which means you can probably get the earlier editions cheaper.

Any of these books will be very useful for this course and for your final year projects.
