'Business Law' by MacIntyre is very detailed and comprehensive (regardless of which text you buy, you will definitely need to refer to this one in preparation for your coursework). However this book does not contain very much by way of context. If you want more insight into how the topics we cover connect to real business life I'd recommend using 'Business Law' by Marson and Ferris. This book has more links to business issues; with, for example, sections exploring why it is relevant to understand the law in a particular area. Sometimes however there isn't quite enough depth and some topics aren't covered so you will need to use MacIntyre or one of the specialist texts below to supplement your reading in preparation of your coursework.
MacIntyre, E. (2018). Business law 9/e. Harlow, England: Pearson.
Marson, J and Ferris, K. (2018). Business law 5 /e. Oxford: Oxford University Press.
Useful for reference: Dictionary
There is no need to buy a legal dictionary. See below for a link to an online version.
Martin and Law (Eds) (2009). Oxford dictionary of law. 7/e. Oxford: Oxford University Press.
Lots of words and phrases that we use on this module have a specific legal meaning. A legal dictionary is a useful reference point to identify these specific meanings and might be particularly useful for international students. Legal dictionaries are not permitted in the exam.
