Pre-module reading

For those who want to make a start with reading for this module, Jennifer Coates' book Women, Men and Language (2013)' is a very good starting point. I recommend reading the introductory chapter, then perhaps dipping into areas such as the historical background and the section on 'gender differences in conversational practice'.
