Electronic Sources

Please bookmark the BBC News Asia Pacific page and check it daily for a quick view of what is happening in the region: (Great source of analysis on the Asia Pacific, website hosted by the ANU) (Great source of analysis on Indonesia) (Excellent website. News and lots of links) (For a selection of general magazines and country-specific newspapers) (An electronic journal providing current analysis of bilateral international relations in the Asia Pacific) (The Asia Society is America's leading institution dedicated to fostering understanding of Asia and communication between Americans and the peoples of Asia and the Pacific). (the Asia Foundation is a US NGO. The website has lots of information on America’s role in the Asia Pacific as well as the foreign relations of the countries of the region). (This is the website for the Asia Research Centre on social political and economic change in Asia in Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia. It also provides online full text articles from the Asia Review). (Asia Source is an online resource on the cultural, economic, social, historical and political dimensions of Asia). (This site, put together by the Department of East Asian Studies, University of Leeds, provides networked resources on East and South-east Asian countries). (resources and information systems concerned with or relevant to Asian Studies. Set up by Australian National University). (links to international organisations, and international relations sites around the world).

These are just a selection of some useful resources. If you find that these links do not work, please inform me. Also, let me know if you discover other interesting links. Given the rapid pace of political change in the Asia Pacific, you will need to keep up date with the issues in this module by keeping track of developments through the media and online sources. Try to set aside at least an hour or two each week to do this, and bring some of the new information and interpretations you find to your seminar group.
