A specific book is not recommended for this course, but research papers will be recommended for each topic (see lectures and coursework assignments).

You are recommended to look on pubmed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?db=pubmed)  for recent reviews on the diseases covered.

There are also some good summaries of diseases in pubmed books (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books) 

For example - for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, there is a book on pubmed books called 'GeneReviews' which has a good summary of the key points of this disease.   (Try typing in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and see).
