Tutor information is taken from the Module Catalogue

These are books that I shall be referring you to repeatedly over the course of the module.

Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson, Why nations fail : the origins of power, prosperity, and poverty, Profile Books, 2012.

Robert C. Allen, Global economic history : a very short introduction, Oxford UP, 2011.

Gregory Clark, A farewell to alms [electronic resource] : a brief economic history of the world, Princeton UP, 2007.

Robert Harms, Africa in Global History, W.W. Norton & Co, 2018. Please: what icon in which toolbar do I use to make a comment for the Library?

Matthew McCartney, Economic growth and development : a comparative introduction, Palgrave, 2015.

Tirthankar Roy and Giorgio Riello, Global Economic History, Bloomsbury Academic, 2019.

I shall refer you to other more specialized texts as the module proceeds: full details will be given in the Lecture Handouts.

You might want to consider buying Robert C. Allen's book.  For all the other texts you will probably want to rely on the Library copies.
